StatiBeat glossary

Use this page when a guide uses a StatiBeat term you do not recognise.

Status page

The public page where customers can see current service health, incidents, planned maintenance, and recent history.

Component

A customer-facing part of a service, such as an API, website, region, or product area. StatiBeat can also call these hierarchy items.

Hierarchy

The parent-and-child structure that explains how your products, regions, services, and components fit together.

Incident

An unplanned problem that affects a service or component. Incidents normally include a timeline of updates and finish with a resolution.

Maintenance

Planned work that may affect a service or component for a known period.

Custom view

A filtered version of a status page that shows only the services relevant to one customer, team, product, or business unit.

RSS feed

A machine-readable stream of status events that can be followed in a feed reader or connected to another system.

Viewer SSO

Single sign-on for people who need to view a private status page. It lets the page use your organisation's identity provider instead of a shared password.

A one-time link sent to you by email so you can manage your subscription or other self-service preferences without creating a separate password.

Beat

A monitoring check that watches a customer-facing path, such as a website, API, certificate, browser journey, or network target. A Beat can alert operators or help create a customer-facing update.

Workspace

The StatiBeat environment where your organisation's users, pages, settings, and plan are managed.

MCP

Model Context Protocol. In StatiBeat's Hosted MCP guide, it is the connection that lets a compatible AI client use approved StatiBeat workflows.
